Kustom BidCo AB (publ) raises SEK 367 million in new funding round and enters strategic partnership with Resurs Bank
Kustom BidCo AB (publ) raises SEK 367 million through an investment from Resurs Bank. In addition to the investment, Kustom and Resurs Bank are also entering a new strategic partnership to strengthen the companies' business-to-business offering for merchants. The capital injection enables further acceleration of Kustom's international growth, as well as continued development of the company's own product offering.
Kustom was founded in October 2024, after a collective of investors led by Kamjar Hajabdolahi acquired the business that formed the foundation of Kustom's current checkout. Since becoming an independent company, Kustom has carried out extensive product development, including migrating over 24,000 merchants to a new technical platform. In addition, the company has introduced new currencies, payment methods and shipping options for connected merchants, and launched its first product for physical retail – Kustom Mobile Point of Sale.
With this investment, the company is now targeting an even broader product offering and faster international expansion.
– Our goal is to revolutionize European commerce. Europe is a complex market, with local variations in how people shop, how they pay, and how they want goods delivered. Kustom is ideally built for this context. Our checkout is easy to get started with, adaptable to specific conditions, and quickly drives increased sales. During 2025, we have been fine-tuning and testing the machinery – now we're shifting into a higher gear. This includes the launch of additional new products, as well as product development in partnership with Resurs Bank, says Kamjar Hajabdolahi, CEO of Kustom.
Kustom is the leading checkout provider in the Nordics, but sees significant potential in the rest of Europe, where penetration for the category as a whole is lower. Beyond this, the company sees opportunities to offer more business-critical solutions for commerce through both its own products and strategic partnerships.
As part of the transaction, Kustom is also entering a strategic partnership with Resurs Bank linked to the companies' business-to-business offering. Kustom's merchants will be offered Resurs Bank's business loan solutions, and corporate customers will be able to pay by business invoice in Kustom's checkout. At the same time, Resurs will be able to offer a checkout to its merchants, built on Kustom's market-leading infrastructure.
– Our ambition is to be the market‑leading omnichannel partner for merchants who want to offer smart financing solutions to both consumers and businesses. Through our strategic partnership with Kustom, we can now offer a checkout solution to our customers, strengthening our competitiveness and accelerating our strategic transformation. Kustom is a company with strong innovative capabilities, and together I am convinced that we can create significant value for merchants across the Nordic region, says Magnus Fredin, CEO of Resurs Bank.
